Injectables: What Actually Works

Botox and dermal fillers are the two most popular MedSpa treatments in the world — and unlike a lot of wellness trends, they actually have the research to back them up.

Botox: A Cochrane systematic review (the gold standard of medical evidence) found "high-certainty" proof that botulinum toxin reduces wrinkles within four weeks. Side effects were comparable to placebo injections. The catch? Results last 3–6 months, so you’re committing to maintenance.

Dermal Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid): A 2025 meta-analysis of 748 patients found HA fillers significantly outperformed placebo. Common side effects are mild—swelling and bruising—but rare vascular complications can be serious. Always verify your provider understands facial anatomy.

The bottom line: These treatments work. Just know they’re temporary investments, not permanent fixes.
